It is not uncommon for a physician to obtain a medical license in multiple states. This can be good if the doctor is in good standing.. however if they are guilty of malpractice.. many do not give up practice unless forced to do so. Frequently their home state does not control their practice in additional states in which they may hold licenses.

If a physician is banned in one state, he may begin practicing full time in his secondary state.

When searching for your physician, search the name in multiple states that may be likely to be alternate practice locations.
